4729 Much of the information on Henry Roth is taken from the census and is highly speculative. What is known for sure is that our Henry Roth was born in 1866 in Ohio, and that his parents were both born in Germany. The only person of this name and age found in the 1900 Ohio census was a saloon keeper of German parentage, living in Lima, and married with two daughters. In that same census, 22-year-old Margaret Snow is single and boarding in a private home in Lima.

Maggie and Henry married about 1900-1901. In 1901 their daughter Hazel was born in Lima.

In the 1910 census, Maggie and Henry Roth are living in Dayton. What is interesting is that in 1910, the family of saloon keeper Henry Roth is still living in Lima, but Henry is no longer with them. Mother and daughters are listed as "single", and the daughters are listed as their mother's "sisters."

It appears quite likely that Henry left his family, Married Maggie Snow, and moved to Dayton.

Going back into previous census years, there is still only one Henry Roth, born 1866 with German Parents. He is the son of Jacob and Martha Roth, who grew up in Van Buren, Ohio.
