    • Baptized Second Church, Rochester (Mattapoisett), Mass., Jan. 1775. "Son of Benjamin and Hannah."

      The 1790 US Census for Vermont lists, "Robert Bisbie, Benson, Rutland Co., 1 m. 16 to 25, 2 m. under 16 yrs., 1 fem. 16 up." The 1800 Census lists, "Robert Bisby, Orwell, Rutland Co., 1 m. under 10 yrs., 1 m. 26 to 45 yrs., 3 fem. under 10 yrs., 1 fem. 26 to 45 yrs."

      Drowned in the St. Regis River at Stockhollm, St. Lawrence County, New York.

      Robert migrated with his family to Vermont, where he was listed in the 1791 census as living in Benson, Rutland Co. He and Margaret later settled in Orwell, Rutland Co., with his parents and his siblings. After he and a daughter drowned in a spring flood, Margaret may have remarried and returned to the area at the foot of Lake Champlain where she was raised. [3, 4]
