    • The 1790 US Census for Maine lists, "Moses Bisbee, Butterfield Plantation, Cumberland, Co., 1 m. and 2 fem."

      The records of Massachusetts Militia from 1812 to 1814 show: "Moses Bisbee, Capt. J. Holt's Co., Col. M. Ryerson's Reg't.; raised in Albany and Bethel, Maine, service, Portland, Maine 1-25-1814 to 11-7-1814." He was in the same company with Rufus and Studley Bisbee. The 1810 census for Maine shows Moses as living in Albany, Oxford County, Maine.

      Moses Bisbee resided for many years in Bethel, Maine in the center of the town, called "Middle Intervale." He was listed as a taxpayer of Buckfield in 1797 and head of a family in 1800. He was an ingenious blacksmith and made much of the cutlery of the neighborhood.
