    • The 1790 US Census for Plainfield, Mass., Hampshire County, lists "Ebenezer Bisbee, 1 m. over 16, 4 m. under 16, 2 fem. over 16." Lived in Abington and Bridgewater, MA, until age 24 and moved to Plainfield, MA. Enlisted in Rev War in 1775 at Abington.

      From HISTORY OF THE TOWN OF PLAINFIELD, Hampshire County, Mass. From its settlement to 189, by Charles N. Dyer, 1891, p. 127:

      "EBENEZER BISBEE"
      "Ebenezer Bisbee, one of the first settlers of the town, was born in 1754, probably in Bridgewater, Mass. He served a short time in the Revolutionary army and settled here as early as 1779, on the farm now occupid by Wm. H. Packard, in the southwest part of town. He was chosen one of the Selectmen in 1788 and served 15 years." [4, 6]
