    Joanne was George English Bisbee's third wife.

  • Notes 
    • George E. Bisbee moved to Jackson with his parents as an infant, whre he grew up. He enlisted in the US Navy as a Naval Aviation Cadet in late 1941. He attained the rank of Lieutenant as a carrier pilot on the USS Gambier Bay which supported US landings during 1944 in General McArthus's advance on the Philippines. Gambier Bay was sunk by enemy gunfire during the battle off Samar on Oct. 25, 1944 as part of the landing of Leyte Island, the greatest naval battle in history. He survived the sinking and was awarded two medals (on the Navy Silver Star for bravery.) After the war he returned to Jackson, Michigan where he was active in manufacturing until his retirement in 1974. After he retired and until his death, he spent his time between Michigan and Florida.
