    • Records of soldiers and sailors in the Revolutionary War from Mass. lists, "Asaph Bisbee Private, Capt. William Weston's Co. Enlisted 7-1-1776, discharged 1-1-1777, stationed at Gurnet for defense of Plymouth Harbor."

      Also, "Private, Capt. nathan Sargent's Co. of Guards. Enlisted 2-3-1779; discharged 5-3-1779, service 3 mos. under Major General Gates at and about Boston."

      Also, "Private from Plympton, Capt. William Cotton's Co., Isiah Whitney's Ref't. Plymouth Co., enlisted 7-29-1778, discharged 9-13-1778; service 1 mo. 16 das. at Rhode Island."

Stature 5' 10", complexion dark, residence Plympton; arrived at Springfield 7-23-1780, marched to camp 7-23-1780 under Capt. Williams, Brookline; return of men raised agreeable to resolve of Dec. 2, 1780, enlisted 1-16-1780.

      Also, "Capt. Calvin Partridge's Co., Abijah Stearn's (Plymouth Co.) Reg't., marched April 6, 1778, discharged 7-2-1778; service 2 mos. 28 das. at Dorchester Heights."

      Asaph Bisbee was Precinct Janitor, and lived in Carver during 1799, 1801, and 1803.

      The 1790 US Census for Massachusetts lists, "Asaph Bisbee of Plympton, Plymouth Co., 2 m. and 2 fem." 1790 Census, Asaph Bisbee of Plympton lists himself, one male 16 or older, and two females in his household.

      1800 census shows 6 children in this household: 2 boys and 1 girl under 10; 2 boys and 1 girl between 10 and 15 years old. Parents listed between 26 and 44 years old.

      According to History of Plymouth County, D. Hamilton Hurd, Compiler, J.W. Lewis & Co, Phila, 1884: Asaph Bisbee served at the Gurnet in Plymouth Harbor, 1777. Among men raised as a guard under General Heath in and about Boston...for three months, 1778. Asaph Bisbee, 6 month enlistment, 1780.
