  • Notes 
    • As a toddler Louis sailed with his parents (from France) and landed in San Francisco (1852-1853). Eventually, they ended up in Placer County, CA near Auburn. His mother's name was Caroline Joninon and she died in Jankee Jims, CA (near Iowa Hill) in 1856. Louis worked in the mines as a young man and later became an expert house painter and wallpaper hanger. He also was a charter member of Auburn Hook and Ladder Company No. 2. Information on Louis H. Joninon submitted by Andrea Wing Gladstone, great-great granddaughter of John Gould Bisbee, from research given her by a Bisbee cousin, now deceased.
