    • Civil War records of Massachusetts soldiers and sailors show: "George Asahel Bisbee enlisted in July 1862 for 3 yrs. in Co. D. 37th Mass. Inf. His Regiment was in engagements at Fredericksburg, Gettysburg, Spotsylvania Court House, Cold Harbor, North Anna, Fall of Petersburg and others. He was a corporal at Reachville, Mass. 2 July 1865. George Asahel Bisbee was a farmer near Chesterfield and recorded a deed in Hampshire County in 1906. He d. "Aged 65 yrs. 9 mos. 14 das." [5]
