Notes - Horatio Bisbee Jr. served in the 5th Mass. Regiment and later in the 9th Maine Infantry. He was promoted to Colonel in the 9th Maine and later resigned due to ill health. He practised law and was US District Attorney; also in Congress from Florida for three terms (1877 to 1885). He contested two elections to Congress from Florida, Second District, against Jesse J. Finley.
He spoke before the US House of Representatives 6 june 1884 on "Jurisdiction of Circuit Courts."
Horatio Jr. graduated from Tufts College in 1863 and received an A. M. in 1872. He was admitted to the bar in Chicago in 1864; was a Republican, member of the Union League, Rockford, Ill., New York Commandry of the Loyal Legion and Seminole Club.
