  • Notes
    • Joel Perham was a farmer and a schoolmaster. He was twice Clerk of Court of Oxford County and served three terms in Congress. He was also Speaker of the Maine House of Representatives and was Governor of Maine for three years. He lived in Woodstock, Maine.

Dr. William Lapham married Joel's daughter, Cynthia. Dr. Lapham was deeply interested in Maine history and published, in 1876, a record, "Some Descendents of Thomas Besbeech (Bisbee)." He also published other works, among which were histories of Rumford, Norway and Paris, Maine. [2]
