    • William H. Bisbee was a blacksmith in Aplington. He served in the Civil War from 12 Aug. 1861 to 22 Oct. 1865. He was an artificer with the rank of sergeant, in the 3rd Independent Battery of the Light Artillary (Capt. Hayden's Artillary Company) of the 9th Regiment of the Iowa Volunteers: from "History of Butler Co., Iowa," 1883, p. 653. Obituary, Wm. H.'s Civil War Pension Record #967490.
