  • Notes 
    • Augustus Byron Bisbee moved to Schenectady, New York with his parents, where he went to school. He then entered the study of medicine, but relinquished his plans of becoming a physician and secured an interest in a drug store at Schenectady, carrying on a successful business for three years. In 1869 Augustus Byron came to Benton Harbor Michigan, where for 12 years he was engaged in the drug business. In 1884 he was elected Recorder of Deeds of Berrien County. After retiring from the recorder's office he embarked in the real-estate business for some time. In 1887 he purchased a twenty acre fruit farm just outside the city limits. -From Portrait and Biographical Record of Berrien Co., Michigan, pp 633-4. [2]
