- Obituary of Elsie Bisbee Jackson, submitted by Mrs. Grover Seitzinger. Elsie Bisbee Jackson, 95, of Danville, passed away at 9:35 pm Thursday (Sept 23, 1999) at Pleasant Meadows Christian Village, Chrisman. She was born Aug. 29, 1904, in New Liskeard, Ontario, Canada, the daughter of the late Sydney B. and Rose (Blackwell) Bisbee. She married Franklin Richard Jackson on June 26, 1926, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada. He preceded her in death in 1935. Survivors include: one son, F. Ralph (Donna) Jackson of Edmonton, Alberta, Canada; two daughters, June (Dr. Grover) Seitzinger of Danville and Vivian J. Cherniak of Welland, Ontario, Canada; seven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters. Mrs. Jackson worked as a licensed practical nurse at Lakeview Hospital in Danville and was a house mother for sororities at the University of Illinois in Champaign, DePauw University in Greencastle, Ind., and Westland College in Bloomington, Ill. She was a member of AARP, the First Presbyterian Church in Danville, and the Rachel Circle of the church, the Library Club, and she was a volunteer at the Well Baby Clinic. She was interested in genealogy and she loved traveling. She journeyed to England to trace her ancestry. Per her wishes, there will be no visitation. Memorial services will be held at a later date. Burial will take place in Canada. Sunset Funeral Home & Cremation Center is in charge of arrangements at Caistorville Cemetery, Ontario, Canada.
