"Margaret L. Mitchell, 91, Corry, died at Corry Manor Tuesday, Sept. 6, 2005.
"She was born Sept. 3, 1914, daughter of the late Fred and Pearl Stager Bisbee.
"Mrs. Mitchell was raised and educated in the Wattsburg area. Following her marriage she raised and cared for her family.
"She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and crafts.
"She was a member of the McCray United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Women's Association; a member of Club 39; and a member of the community birthday club of Elgin.
"In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dean C. Mitchell, March 19, 1985, whom she married May 27, 1933; two daughters, Marilyn Coulter and Joyce Peiper; three sisters; seven brothers; and a great-grandson, Jason R. Long.
"She is survivied by a daughter, Sandra Bigelow; a son, Norman D. Mitchell, and his wife, Judy, all of Corry; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; a great-great grandson; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at Bracken Funeral Home, 315 N. Center St., Corry, Thursday between the hours of 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral services will take place at the funeral home Friday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Robert Caroll, pastor of McCray, Wayne Valley and Elgin United Methodist Churches officiating.
"Burial will be in Wattsburg Cemetery.
"Memorials may be made to the Elgin-Beaverdam Volunteer Fire Department, Box 51, Elgin, PA 16413." |
