| Text | "Fay "Granny Fay" Owings, 93, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 4, 2005, at 3:20 P.M. in Eastland Memorial Hospital with family at her side. "Services were held Friday, October 7, 2005 at 3 p.m. in the Kimbrough Funeral Home Chapel in Cisco with Rev. Don Copeland and Rev. Stephen Forester officiating. Burial was in the Oakwood Cemetery under the direction of Kimbrough Funeral Home. "Fay Owings was born to Sam and Mittie Bisbee on May 11, 1912 in Eastland County. She was the eldest of eight children, six brothers and one sister: Bill Bisbee, Wilburn Bisbee, Lloyd Bisbee, Floyd Bisbee, C. L. Bisbee, Jay Bisbee and Ruth Bisbee Lamb. All preceded her in death. "Fay's husband and two sons, Charles Vestal and J. W. also preceded her in death. "Fay married Vestal Andrew Owings July 17, 1933 in Cisco. They had seven children: Maunia Loy Owings Copeland of Tyler, Texas, Jennifer Jo Owings Alexander of Cisco, Joan Owings Bonds of Oklahoma, Charles Vestal Owings, J. W. Owings, Charles Alexander of Cisco and Don Copeland of Tyler. She had nine grandchildren: Randy Copeland, Diann Copeland Crow, Charles Copeland, Belinda Owings Grand, Jean Owings Venable, Debbie Owings Miller, Sammie Owings Foster, Danny Alexander and Tammy Alexander. Granny Fay had 19 great-grandchildren; Ashley, Stephen, Stephanie, Gary, Jason, Joe, Chris, David, Jeana, Megan, Mendy, Michelle, P.J., Mary Ann, Steven, Darrell, Chad & Stephanie Dawn. Her eldest great-grandson, Cody Lane Copeland, preceded her in death. Granny Fay's family also included 13 great-great grandchildren: Andrew, Morgan, Noah, Seth, Alexander Jake, Johnathon, Analisia, Sara, Seth, Isaac, Nathan, Samuel and Cody Malkuth. "Serving as pallbearers are Tim Ingram, Larry Payne, Roy Rogers, Ray Copeland, Randall Copeland and Darrell Copeland. "Her family members and church family at the Bible Baptist Church and a whole host of friends will sorely miss her. She left us all loving and admiring her strength, wisdom and wit. "A special "thank you" goes to the staff at Eastland Memorial Hospital and to Dr. Deluca for their genuine concern and care. To Fay's Canterbury Villa Family in Cisco who so lovingly cared for "Our Mom" since 1988, "Thank you and our love goes to each of you"--Tina R., Debra Heather, Cindy, Ray, Debbe, Vonda, Ernie, Brenda, Missy, Steven, Grace, Dianna, Becky, Lori, Louise, Tina H., Cheryl, Karen, Dorthy, Vernia, Janie, Toni, Chris, Deb, Michelle, Kristy, Ken, Martha, Shawn F., Shawn D., Tommie, Mattie, Pam, Angel, Helen, Pat, Melissa, Nan, John, Jessica, Mildred, Maggie, Claudia, Patsy and Paula." | |
