Text WILLIAMSBURG - Sylvia "Sue" (Ferron) Bisbee, 70, of Village Hill Road, passed away on May 30, 2010, after a long illness, with her family and friends by her side.
Born in Plainfield on July 13, 1939, she was the daughter of George and Mary (Lonergan) Ferron. She grew up in Williamsburg and graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1957. After graduation, she worked at the former Pro Brush Co. in Florence for many years, then at Rockridge Retirement Community in Northampton, and finally at the former Multibank National of Western Massachusetts.
Sue enjoyed camping and spent many happy weekends at Travelers Woods in Bernardston. She and her husband, Dick, also vacationed at Lake George, N.Y., and traveled to destinations up and down the East Coast.
She loved caring for her family, watching the birds (and occasional bears) at her backyard feeders, playing cribbage and Scrabble, besting her husband at Skip-Bo, and, in her younger years, partner dancing. Sue was honest and outspoken, but could be counted on to support those close to her.«b»
«/b»She is survived by her husband of 47 years, Dick Bisbee; her son, Richard Bisbee Jr.; her grandchildren, Timothy and Alyssa Culver of Williamsburg, and Kathryn Culver of Turners Falls; her great-grandchildren, Scarlott Shea of Turners Falls and Morgan Culver of Southampton; and her brother, George Ferron Jr. of Williamsburg.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Karen Culver, in 2005, and by her sisters, Anna Parish, Barbara LaDue, Irene Gustavis Bisbee and Dorothy Trumble.
