      Jessie Melia was the first child of Newt and Grace Melia, married Glen Kir
      kpatrick, the son of another old pioneering family. Glen was a prominent cattleman, raising registered shorthorn cattle, as well as a lot of horses, including at least a dozen Shetland ponies at about any given time. Glen owned a couple of big threshing machines along with his dad, and did a lot of custom thrashing around the country. Glen and Jessie's farm was located about a mile south and a mile east of where Jessie was born, and had 4 children. Glen died in 1962, and after living alone on the farm for a number of years, Jessie moved to Bucklin to live with son Keith and his wife Charlene. Jessie was just over 90 when she passed away.
