      "Warren was the 3rd child of Jessie and Glen, and an outstanding 4-Her, and athelete. He spent World War Two in the Army in the South Pacific, one of those GIs who went from Island to Island chain fighting the Japanese. ------ He returned from the war and went to work for the United States Post Office as a mail carrier in Dodge City, Kansas, married a Bucklin teacher by the name of Verna Jean Fischer, who later died sometime in the 1990s. and had a daughter, Nancy. He now lives(2002) in Weatehrford, Okalhoma near his daughter."

      "Memorial services for Warren Wilmer Kirkpatrick, 77 year old Weatherford, Oklahoma resident was held on Sunday, December 8, 2002 at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Lockstone Funeral Home with Rev. Lynn Brack officiating.

      Warren was born to Glenn and Jessie (Melia) Kirkpatrick on June 1, 1925 in Bucklin Kansas and died at Southwestern Memorial Hospital at Weatherford on Thursday, December 5, 2002.

      Warren was raised and attended school in the Bucklin Area, graduating in 1943. He joined the army in 1944-1946 serving in the Pacific Theatre. On August 9, 1947, Warren married Verna Jean Fischer, making their home in Dodge City. He worked for Dodge City Co-op in Howell for 7 years and worked for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail carrier for 27 years. In 1985 he retired and then moved to Weatherford in 1996. Warren enjoyed water sports, camping, hunting and horses.

      Memorials may be made to the Multiple Sclerosis Association, in care of Lockstone Funeral Home, Inc, P.O. Box 547, Weatherford, OK 73096.

      Warren is survived by one daughter, Nancy Penner and her Husband Ron of Weathorford and one grandson, Stephen Buddy of Weatherford.

      He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, 2 brothers, Keith and Kenneth, and one sister, Marcella."
