      John Hatch Bisbee graduated from Union College in 1831. He studied theology at the Seminary, Auburn, NY. Following this he labored in a pastoral office at Middlefield, Mass. and thereafter had a church for 28 years in Worthington, Mass.

      The Second Congregational Church of Huntington, Mass. was organized 26 Aug. 1876. The following clergymen served in the organization: Emerson Davis, Ebenezer B Wright, John Hatch Bisbee, Edward Clark and Francis Wariner. Rev. Bisbee was the second settled pastor of this church. He was installed in April 1867. Rev. Bisbee wrote the "History of Worthington, Mass." and was one of a comittee of three appointed by a Town Meeting 2 Nov. 1876.

      Rev. Bisbee delivered a sermon before Gov. Briggs' Council and the Legislature of Massachusetts 6 Jan. 1847. He also wrote "A Secular and Ecclesiastical History of Worthington, Mass. from the First Settlement to the Present Time." And, "Lectures to Young Men." [4]
