| 5558 | Rouse Bisbee moved to Paris, Maine in 1801; lived in South Paris. He was a blacksmith and wheelwright. He owned one-quarter acre of land and a store in Paris. He bought part of 8 acres in section 3 on the easterly side of Mill Pond from Solomon Bryant. In 1802 he signed a petition to the House and Senate (Maine) for division of the town. He sold his store in Paris to Morse in 1803 and moved to Belfast, Maine and later to Portland. In 1810 he moved to Woodstock, Maine, built a mill and lived in Woodstock until his death in 1852. He was Moderator of the first town meeting held after the town was incorporated. In 1835 he was defeated as a candidate for District Representative for the State Legislature by R. T. Lurvey.
