    • In 1900, Hettie and James R. Hilliard have only been married 5 years, but 18-year-old single daughter Pearl Winchester is living in the household. Hettie was probably married previously to somebody named Winchester. Hettie says she only had one child. Daisy and Pearl are definately not the same person, since Pearl married Lawrence Ryckman. James Hilliard says this marriage to Hettie is his first marriage. If everything here is true, Daisy cannot be the daughter of James or Hettie Hilliard. So who is she...perhaps a niece? Perhaps adopted? Where is Daisy in 1900. Is she the Miss Hilliard who, according to Tina L. Curtis, was a milliner in Wattsburg in 1897 (not found in the 1900 census)?
