    • Records of the War of 1812 for Mass. Militia show: "Hopestill Bisbee Capt. Jessie Turner's Co., Lieut. COl. W. Ryerson's Reg't.; raised at Buckfield, Maine. Service Portland, Main 9-14 1814 to 9-24 1814."

      "Hopestill Bisbee was not given many of the advantages of an education, but was an advocate of everything of public interest and benefit. He was a member of the Washington Society for the Promotion of Temperence and an advocate of anti-slavery action. He was known as "Captain."

      Hopestill is buried Hartford Center. [8]
