      Harriet's birthdate as reported by her son-in-law in her death certificate is 8 July 1847, which matches the year of birth on her grave stone. Given that the day and month are correct, the 1850 and 1860 census returns also have her born in 1847, while the 1870, 1880 and 1900 returns have her born 1846. In the opinion of the compiler, the census taken in October 1850 is probably the most accurate, because it is the closest to her actual birth, and her information was probably provided by her mother (Aurilla Jones Bacon).
