  Obituary, Newsreview, Roseburg, Oregon, Death Notices & Obituaries for Dec 31, 2002 BISBEE, Louise - Age 87, of Roseburg, Oregon passed away December 27, 2002 at a local hospital. She was born Golda Louise Thornburg on July 25, 1915 in Lyons, Kansas to William and Essie (Miller) Thornburg. Louise graduated from Plainview High School in Plainview, Texas. In December 1963, in Redlands, California Louise married Ralph Bisbee. They made their home in Pomona, California where Louise worked as a physical therapist and massage therapist. In 1970, Louise and Ralph followed their dream and moved to Douglas County, Oregon. Their first home was in Roseburg, they then moved to Azalea, Riddle, Myrtle Creek for twenty years, and returned to Roseburg a year ago. Louise was a member of the Roseburg Artists Guild. She had a talent for art, writing poetry, cartooning, drawing pictures with India ink and painting with oil paints. Louise belonged to the Myrtle Creek Hospital Auxiliary, serving as a Pink Lady. Her artwork was on display when the hospital first opened its doors. Louise was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Roseburg and in Myrtle Creek. Previously, she worked for the Northern California Conference of Seventh-day Adventists as the Private Secretary to J. Walter Rich, President of the American Temperance Society. Louise enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, keeping her mind active so she could write her poetry. She was a lady with strong convictions and principles. She was a lady devoted to her husband and a loving mother and grandmother. Louise is survived by; her husband, Ralph Bisbee of Roseburg; daughter Nancy Turk and husband, Bill of Houston, Texas; son, Mark Rice and wife, Teddy of Fortine, Montana; stepson, Robin Bisbee of Roseburg; granddaughter, Theodora Turk of Eugene, Oregon and step-granddaughter, Melody Trip of Mason, Texas and brother, Harrison Thornburg of Needles, California. Louise was preceded in death by her brother, Rayo Guy Thornburg. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, January 2, 2003, at WILSON'S CHAPEL OF THE ROSES, 965 W Harvard, Roseburg. Burial will be within the grounds of Roseburg Memorial Gardens.
