Fordyce W. Bisbee Visits Bisbee, North Dakota
Newspaper Clipping from August 21, 1930
An interesting visitor here one day recently was Fordyce W. Bisbee of Tourin (sic), Iowa. Mr. Bisbee is a candidate for congress in his home district and was on his way to Manitoba to study the liquor system first hand.
He stopped off here to see the town bearing his name and get acquainted with any by that name here to see if they were members of the same Bisbee family as he.
While here he met Mrs. Andrew Gerrard and son Max, Mrs. Gerrard's maiden name being Bisbee.
Mr. Bisbee said the original Bisbee family came over from England about three hundred years ago and settled on the eastern coast. Some time ago a Bisbee picnic was held in the state of Maine at which there were over one thousand people there by the name of Bisbee.
