Text "BISBEE - In Devizes, Norton County, Kansas on September 29th, George A. Bisbee of Wingham, aged 62 years, 10 months and 26 days. George A. Bisbee, one of Wingham's residents for a number of years passed away on Sunday morning last, at Norton, Devizes County, Kansas, in his 63rd year. The deceased had been suffering from Bright's disease for the past six or seven years and went to Kansas about three years ago to spend the winter in the hope that it would benefit his health, but it appeared to have had the opposite effect. Mr. Bisbee was born in London Township, Middlesex County, on Nov. 3rd, 1838, where he lived for the first forty years of his life. He then moved to Huron Township, Bruce County and lived there about eleven years. He moved into Wingham about twelve years ago and has lived there ever since. He married Miss Charlotte Patterson, who predeceased him about six years. They had seven children, all of whom are living: Ebenezer of Goodrich, Mrs. H. E. Smith and Miss Maggie Bisbee of Corning, N.Y., Misses Lydia and Lottie of Detroit, and William and Lawson of Wingham. He also leaves two brothers and two sisters - Rev. Reuben Bisbee of Norton who accompanied the remains to Wingham and Mrs. B. C. Hewitt and Mrs. Wm. Nelson of the same place and James of London. He has been a member of the Methodist church all his lifetime. In politics he was a liberal. He took a great interest in current events, having decided literary tastes. The funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon to the Wingham cemetery for interment. The bereaved family are assured the sympathy of many friends in the hour of sorrow."
