  • Notes 
    • In 1903 he purchased the land around Solon Pond, and built a saw and grist mill there, with living quarters for himself. He is buried in Lower Cincinnatus Cemetery where he had arranged for the erection of a millstone inscribed, "Solon Pond Miller".

      I remember him as a stern, but man with a good heart. He helped us on our farm many times. I only remember one time when he disciplined me and my mother read him the riot act. An event very few individuals ever did. At times he was called: "The Friendly Bullhead of Solon Pond", and I remember one of his lines: "I am not always right, but I am very seldom wrong." The one thing I know is that he was a mechanical genius. -- Walter E. Kelley, Grandson of Lee G. Kibbe. [1]
