- [S1736] Note.
All of the information about Andrew's birth comes from the census. In 1850, Andrew Mallory is living in the household of Nathaniel and Experience Mallory (assumed to be his parents), is age 4, and was born in Pennsylvania. This census is significant because it is closest to his actual birth. If his age is correct, his birth would have been in 1845 or 1846, depending on whether he has just turned 4, or will turn 5 in 1850. Because the census was enumerated in September, odds are good that Andrew already celebrated his 4th birthday earlier in the year, making him born in 1846. The 1860, 1870 and 1880 censuses put his birthdate between 1845-1847.
