    • Note that in the 1910 census Clark and Maud have been married 11 years, yet in the 1900 census Clark is single and living at home. Even though his mother was born in Canada, there is some question whether this Clark Brown is actually our subject, since the family has no record of a wife (Maud) or a son (Sherman). If this is our Clark Brown, it is possible that Sherman was actually Clark's stepson.
